About The Company

New Thought Leader is a small group of like-minded individuals who have collectively pooled their talents to provide a broad range of experience across many market sectors. This cross-fertilisation of talent and industry experience serves New Thought Leader’s clients as they can reap the benefits of the thought leadership that profits other market sectors.

New Thought Leader was founded by Mark Buchan in 2008. Until that time, Mark had worked as a business and change management consultant for 15 years where he subcontracted himself to other organisations providing his expertise as a facilitator of change.

After much soul-searching Mark had come to realise that he was not living his dream. At that point he decided to settle for nothing less than working on his dream full time. As a result Mark spent most of 2008 bringing together the team who have come from a variety of business backgrounds and provide a rich mix of personality and approaches.

The Dream

Mark’s dream is to create an organisation of like-minded individuals who are passionate, inspired and fulfilled in the work they do. One of Mark’s favourite sayings is “happy workers make a happy organisation, and if we are happy we have a better chance of making our clients happy.” Experience has taught Mark that the following factors make for fulfilled and contented associates:

Being Part Of A Successful Team

One of the key element’s that independent consultants, coaches and change facilitators is the feeling of being on a team. Often their work can be very lonely even though they work with people all the time.

Better Rewards For The Associates

Mark’s belief is that the people who do the work should receive the lion’s share of the reward and as such he is committed to ensuring that the team receive most of the fees received from the client (80%). This is revolutionary compared to other associations that use this model who believe that the person who finds the work keeps most of the profits. This attitude serves only to demoralise the independent consultant and as a result their emoional energy is not fully focsed on the service and satisfaction of the client.

Recognition Of Unique Talents

Mark understands that recognition and acknowledgment are key motivators for people and as such each of our team members are recognised for their unique contribution to the success of New Thought Leader. Each person on the team has key skills and talents that contribute greatly to the achievement of our clients goals.

Interesting Work

Mark’s role in New Thought Leader is to seek out fulfilling and rewarding work for his team because he believes that if we dedicate a minimum of 40 hours to our “work”, should we not be doing something that fulfills us? This is why New Thought Leader is very choosey about the work that it takes on. Mark says, “While some projects require some grunt work, that isn’t necessarily fulfilling in and of itself, if our clients required outcome is inspiring to us we can keep this in our minds as we work with them towards the achievement of that goal.”

The world has seen much change in last 18 months or so, these changes have shaken everybody up.
